Busy Week Behind Me

Last week was busy.  Between Family Literacy Day, Chinese New Year, and other things, I was hopping for a fair chunk of the week.

But things were also good.  I was able to spend time working on the artwork for the Summer Reading Game scoreboard.  Last year, I used level 1-1 of Super Library Patron, my take-off of Super Mario Bros.  This year I'm making level 1-2, and have updated the visual design to look less like the original Super Mario Bros., and more like Super Mario Bros 3.  It's been fun so far, and I'm hoping the scoreboard will be a hit like last year's was.

Oh, and Amanda and I went to the hockey game last night. The Storm lost in a shoutout, but we enjoyed ourselves, which is all that really matters!

Storm is Coming

Amanda and I went to a Grande Prairie Storm game together tonight.  Our team lost, but we had a lot of fun... And took a photo together!

Hockey Night in Grande Prairie

Tonight when the puck dropped to begin the abbreviated NHL season, Amanda and I were not in front of the TV. Instead, we were at the Crystal Centre watching the Grande Prairie Storm beat the Calgary Canucks. It was great. I hadn't been to a live hockey game in over five years, and I had some wonderful company for it.

Now, I don't think we'll be going to every home game, but I do think we'll go again. Amanda admitted to me that she had made sure to bring her iPhone just in case she was bored by the game. I'm happy to say that she didn't have to pull the iPhone out of her pocket even once.
